Hammers win at home 2-1 over Kamloops

06/02/2013 8:01 PM -

On a beautiful sunny afternoon, in front of several representatives from local military, law enforcement and firefighter groups, Bellingham United gave the home crowd their first victory at home in 2013.

Andrew Weishaar opened up the scoring early in the game on an unassisted run past the Kamloops defense and a clinical finish in a 1 v 1 against the goal keeper. He also earned "Silver Reef Hammer Man of the Match" for his stellar performance.

Kellan Brown then made the scoreline 2-0 when he scored his 8th goal of the season in the second half, to once again put him at the top of the league in scoring.

Kamloops would find the back of the net late in the second half to make a game of it at 2-1, but were never able to equalize as time ran out.

Bellingham United remain in second place in the league with a 4-2-1 record and will take on the first place Khalsa SC on the road this Thursday, June 6 in New Westminster, BC.

The Hammers next home match is next Sunday, June 9 at 3pm against Coquitlam Metro-Ford. BUY TICKETS
